Location. Purgatory Village Lodge is a slope-side condominium-style accommodation located in the San Juan National Forest, between Silverton and Durango. Tucked between the San Juan Mountains and the Animas River Valley, the town of Durango has been dubbed one of the most desirable small cities in the country. Home to the popular Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, the town also hosts a delightful string of shops, galleries and microbreweries.
