Location. The Room at the Inn Bed and Breakfast is a Victorian-era accommodation located in the historic center of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Manitou Springs is only five miles away and is known for its mineral waters and its Cliff Dwellings Preserve, which showcases life in the area around 1200 A.D. The Garden of the Gods natural rock formations are a popular nearby destination and Seven Falls continues to dazzle with its spectacular mountain scenery. Recreational opportunities include golfing, biking, skiing, fishing, horseback riding and hang gliding. Hotel Features. Constructed in 1896, the inn features classic Queen Anne styling and original hand-painted murals. Four tiled fireplaces, a wrap-around veranda and a three-story turret complete the vintage look of this historic property. The third- floor upper parlor features a card table and a library. The inn provides full breakfasts consisting of a hot entree, fresh fruits, homemade breads, coffees and a large selection of teas. Popular entrees include gingerbread pancakes with lemon sauce and buckwheat waffles with raspberry sauce. Hot tea and soft drinks are available all day. Guestrooms. Each of the guestrooms at the Room at the Inn Bed and Breakfast feature unique decor and furnishings. Some have fireplaces, some balconies, still others have jetted tubs or views. Oriental rugs and period antiques are common amenities. High-speed Internet access is available in the rooms. Expert Tip. A little over six miles away is the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, home to over 650 animals, including more than 30 endangered species. The zoo features the most prolific group of captive-bred giraffes in the world, which visitors can actually feed by hand.
